Break Area, AT&T - Tyson's Corner, Virginia Designed to provide outdoor shelter from the sun and rain during short break periods this structure is comprised of steel and concrete elements offering seating, leaning and strolling to the occupants of an existing office building. Like the leaves of a tree, a canopy is comprised of layers of material selected to filter the daylight while offering glimpse the sky above. Evening lighting is provided by fixtures aimed upward with the light reflected by perforated metal screens. The pathway is marked by small regular spotlights aimed toward the ground.
