Himle Residence - Boulder, Colorado                                Located in the foothills outside of Boulder, Colorado, this house takes advantage of the topography and geology, orientation and poetry of its situation. In addition, we exploited two types of technologies to create two types of space within the structure. Places of repose and quiet are found amongst the masonry walls rising out of the earth. In contrast, places of gathering and noise are described by the steel frame. Organized about a vertical path, the house answers the client's request to "dance among the trees."
