Fountain Village Townhomes - Fountain, CO Fountain was established in the 1880s. The original grid of the layout still exists, and the owner wanted to develop 1.5 blocks located within that grid. Economics and industry standards require uniformity in this kind of development. But the surrounding structures were each built individually, reflecting the nature of construction in the 19th century, giving them a kind of chaotic pattern. Our challenge, therefore, was to stitch the new development back into the grid in a contemporary way. In other words, we wanted to create chaos within the context of uniformity. We did this by creating a uniform set of town homes and then superimposed on top of that a new geometry. As a result, while the town homes share the same floor plan, they each also contain some unique living spaces.
